Listed are cicketers who represented Ceylon at first-class cricket, before the country became a republic in 1972. Teams from Ceylon include 'Dr J Rockwood's Ceylon XI', 'Ceylonese', 'Ceylon Board President's XI' and 'Ceylon Board Prime Minister's XI'. A team called Ceylon would compete against Madras for the Gopalan Trophy, usually every two years.
