Definition from Wiktionary, a free dictionary

ISO 639-5 language code templates. These are for language families (such as "Germanic") rather than individual languages. They are not intended to be called directly from entries, but rather, indirectly using {{etyl}} (q.v.).

These templates are unlike those in Category:Language templates in that they return custom text depending on what is passed in as the first parameter.

  • pedia - returns the Wikipedia link
  • disp - display text
  • cat - category

Example: {{etyl:gem|pedia}} returns "Germanic languages".
