The Sega Mega-CD (Sega CD in North America) is a CD add-on for the Sega Genesis. It played audio CDs and special game discs. This system is considered a failure, The first Mega-CD was expensive. Sega then released the Mega-CD 2, which was smaller and cheaper, but consumers were both confused by the Sega 32X and also lost their trust in Sega because they never kept their focus on their video game systems.
